One late spring
afternoon in Tuscany, I
returned from a walk
with yet another armful
of wild flowers, only to
realize I had already
filled every vase in the
villa.
That's when I had
one of those eureka
moments: Why not fill
other people's lives
with flowers, too?
I come to flower design with a background in writing and the arts (painting and weaving) - a childhood spent visiting museums and galleries, studying and absorbing ideas about color, shape, style, form - the whole rich subject of art and artists, the world of beautiful objects made with imagination, ardor, and skill. In that world, bouquets were something one made on the spur, filling jugs and vases with seasonal blooms.

traveling in the light of flowers
Only the freshest of fresh flowers.
Organic blooms when possible.
And, if seasonal local flowers
catch your fancy, I know serious
cultivators who garden for the world.
